3 weeks, a Swim Meet, and a 5K down, Rest week to Follow

Just completed week 3 of the marathon training schedule (9 weeks to go).  The last few weeks have been a little intense between a 13 mile mid week run, speed work, a tempo run, a trip to NYC, a swim meet, an 18 mile run, and a 5K road race.  Looking forward to a down week and a little bit of recovery time.

I finished fairly strong just a few seconds per mile off my 5K personal record today, but feeling totally drained now.  Managed a personal record in the 100 breast last week (1:30.89 -- 1.2 seconds faster then 2010) where our team (Minuteman Masters) took the large team category at the New England Masters Short Course Meters Championship.

Keith and I ran a solid 18 miles yesterday morning that took us all the way from Belmont, to the Eliot Bridge, to Comm Ave, to Moody St.  No more speed work or long runs for the next week+ and time catch up on rest and relaxation.

Had the full families out today as Amy, C-A, Meryl, Laura, and I all took on the Jingle Bell 5K in Davis Square.
